The Dodge Dart is an American compact car that was first presented to the public in 1959. Its serial production was carried out in 1960-1976.

The Dart model was initially designed and implemented for production in order to expand the company's offer and launch a new car from the so-called full-size, i.e. a car ensuring the highest possible comfort of travel for 4 to 6 people, also on long journeys, counted in thousands of kilometers. However, only the first generation of Darts in 1960-1961 was built with this in mind. Very quickly, already in 1962, the model was repositioned to the segment of the so-called mid-size, which was reflected in the exterior design. However, immediately (already in 1963!) There was another change of the target market and the Dodge Dart in the years 1963-1976 was in fact offered, by the standards of the American market, as a lower-middle class car. In this version, the Dart model was produced in several body versions, including: 4-door sedan, 2-door hardtop or 2-door convertible. It was also based on the Chrysler A-Platform platform. It is worth adding that in 2012 Dodge presented a model of the same name, also from the lower middle class.
