Europrop International TP400 is a turboprop engine from modern times. The first successful engine start-up took place in 2005, and serial production started shortly after and is still ongoing. It is estimated that about 400 power units of this type were produced during the project. In the TP400-D6 version, the motor measures approx. 350 cm in length with a maximum diameter of 92 cm. The weight of the "dry" engine is 1,890 kilograms. The maximum power generated by the TP400-D6 version reaches 11,000 hp, which makes it one of the most powerful and powerful engines in its class in the world!

The presented engine was developed by a consortium of companies called Europrop International founded in 2002, which included such plants as: MTU Aero Engines, Rolls-Royce or ITP Aero, and the main goal of this consortium was to create a drive unit for Heavy transport aircraft Airbus A400M Atlas, i.e. the TP400 engine. In the course of designing this engine, it was decided to use a rarely used three-shaft engine configuration and a turbine with the so-called free power. All these technical solutions were to lead to the highest possible pressure in the engine, and finally - the highest possible power. However, the technological advancement of the engine and the relatively complicated structure had a negative impact on its reliability. Moreover, the engine was troubled by the so-called "Childhood diseases" relating in particular to gears.
