Choroszy Modelbud D11 AEG IVb

The AEG G.IV was a German wooden bomber bomber with a fixed undercarriage from the First World War. The drive was provided by two Daimler Mercedes D.IVa engines with 260 HP each. The flight of the prototype took place in 1916 and in the same year mass production began, which led to the creation of about 320 examples of this aircraft. The deck armament consisted of two 7.92 mm machine guns. The plane could also carry a load of bombs weighing up to 350 kilograms.

The G.IV was created as a development of the previous designs of the AEG concern: G.II and G.III bombers. Compared to its predecessors, it differed primarily in the use of new engines, new propellers and the strengthening of the wing and fuselage structure. His tasks were primarily to support land units and destroy enemy positions. It was very often called a front-line bomber in the German nomenclature. These aircraft entered the line at the end of 1916 and fought until the end of World War I - primarily on the Western Front. They are used to a lesser extent on the Italian front (for example, the Padua bombing raid) or on the Romanian front. The only surviving copy of this plane is on display today at the Canadian Aviation Museum in Ottawa.
