Tamiya 16008 BMW R90S

The BMW R 90 S is a German sports motorcycle that was presented to the public for the first time in 1973. Its production was carried out in the years 1973-1976. The motorcycle was powered by a single, 900cc, two-cylinder, air-cooled boxer engine. In total, approximately 17,500 copies of this vehicle were produced.

The R 90 S model was developed with the aim of creating a motorcycle with the best possible performance, especially maximum speed. For this purpose, a BMW 247 engine was used for its drive, which in general was based on the R75 / 5 engine. Its aerodynamic properties have also been refined, for example by placing a small windshield covering the clocks of the speedometer or tachometer. All these efforts resulted in a top speed of 200 km / h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km / h in 4.8 seconds. The R 90 S model was replaced in the BMW offer by the R 100 S model.
