The BL 14-inch Mk VII is a British 356 mm naval gun from the Second World War and the post-war period. The weapon was developed in the late 1930s and entered to be equipped with the Royal Navy in 1940, as the main armament of King George V battleships, i.e. HMS King George V, HMS Prince of Wales, HMS Anson, HMS Duke of York and HMS Howe. The total mass of the gun was about 80.26 tons, and the total length of its barrel was 16.31 meters. The initial velocity of the shells was up to 757 m / s. The range of the maximum shot was from 33,400 to 35,550 meters depending on the ammunition used. The maximum theoretical rate of fire was 2 shots per minute. The gun was mounted on King George V-class battleships in the Mark II double-gun turrets and Mark III four-gun turrets. Undoubtedly, the presented gun was a successful design with good ballistic properties and penetrating armor. As a curiosity, two guns of this type were installed near Dover as coastal artillery.
