The Dodge Dakota (another name: Ram Dakota) is an American pick-up car that was first presented to the public in 1986. Its serial production was carried out in 1987-2010. The production of this model took place primarily in the city of Warren in the United States. About 1.1 million copies of this car were produced in its course.

The Dakota model was designed and implemented for production in order to expand the company's offer and establish a competitive fight with Ford and Chevrolet cars. Three generations of the car were created in the course of production. The first one, produced in 1987-1997, was powered by 4-, 6- or 8-cylinder engines with a capacity of 2.2 to 5.2 liters. It was based on the Chrysler N-body platform. In the years 1997-2004, the second generation of the Dakota model was produced, which had a different wheelbase and the range of available power units was enlarged. Finally, in 2005, the third generation entered production, based on a new chassis (Chrysler ND-body), with a changed wheelbase and a wider range of gearboxes. In the company's offer, the Dakota model was replaced by the Dodge Ram 1500 car.
