French naval cannon Canon de 152 mm Modèle 1930 caliber 152 mm was developed in the late 1920s, and entered service in 1930. The initial velocity of the shell fired from this gun was up to 870 m / s. The cannon was capable of firing a projectile weighing up to 56 kilograms over a maximum distance of approximately 26,100 meters. It is worth adding that the barrel length of this gun was 55 calibers, i.e. 8.36 meters. It is worth adding that while on cruisers it was used as the main armament and it was assumed that it would fight mainly surface targets, it was an additional armament on battleships and was to fight both surface and air targets. However, due to the low speed of lifting the barrel vertically and the slow rotation of the turret horizontally, the gun was not able to effectively perform the latter role. It is worth adding that it has always been installed in three-section towers.
