Special Hobby 72055 Polikarpov R-Z

The Polikarpov RZ is a Soviet, single-engine multi-role biplane with a mixed structure with a classic tail. The plane was built at the GAZ plant in Moscow as a development and improvement of the Polikarpov R-5 design. The difference was the improved aerodynamics of the fuselage and wings and the introduction of the new M-34 engine with 820HP. Several versions of the aircraft were created, including: RZ (basic, reconnaissance), R-Zsz (attack version), PZ (civilian, transport aircraft), PT (improved version of the PZ). Polikarpov RZ passed his baptism of fire in Spain in 1937-1939. It was also used in combat in the Battle of Chałchyn-Goł and in the Winter War against Finland.
