Answer ADW4A-2009 Polska lokomotywa EP 05

EP05 (another designation: ZNTKiM Gdańsk 44E) is a series of electric locomotives that were built in the years 1973-1977 at ZNTK in Gdańsk. The length of the locomotive with buffers is 16.14 meters and a width of 2.95 meters. The service weight is 82.5 tons. The axes of the locomotive were constructed in the Bo'Bo 'system. A total of 27 locomotives of this type were built.

The EP05 locomotives were created as a result of the reconstruction of the EU05 locomotives acquired in the 1960s from Czechoslovakia. The modernization was aimed at increasing the maximum and operational speed. Work began in 1969, and the first results appeared in the early 1970s. The main change was to change the position of the gearbox in relation to the original EU05 locomotive. After the modernization of the EP05 locomotives, they were assigned to the Warszawa Olszynka Grochowska depot, from where they served, among others, the Central Railway Main Line. Locomotives of this type were in service until 2008.
