The Chvaletice Power Station (Chvaletice Power Station) is located in the town of the same name in the Pardubice Region in the central part of the Czech Republic. At present, it has four power units with a capacity of 205 MW each. Block numbers 3 and 4 use chimneys of 305 meters each, making them the tallest free-standing buildings in the Czech Republic. It is worth adding that they were built over 40 years ago - in 1977. However, the entire power plant complex was built in the years 1973-1979. From the very beginning, the power plant used lignite as fuel, which until the mid-1990s was supplied by water from the Czech town of Lovosice. It is worth adding that in the 1990s the power plant was quite thoroughly modernized, which improved its operation and increased its reliability - especially in the field of electricity transmission. The Chvaletice power plant has been owned by the company since 2013 Severni Energeticka AS, which acquired it from CEZ Group. Three years later (2016), the power plant underwent another modernization which aimed at generating less pollution into the atmosphere.
