Waterloo 1815 AP021 Prussian Hussars of Branderburg 1813-15

Pruski 3rd Regiment of Hussars[niem. Husaren-Regiment von Zieten (Brandenburgisches) Nr. 3] It was formed in 1730 during the reign of Frederick William I. His son and heir to the Prussian throne, Frederick the Great, significantly changed the uniform of the soldiers of this regiment in 1743. During the reign of this ruler, the unit was used intensively, especially during the Seven Years' War (1756-1763). In the course of the war with Napoleon, the regiment surrendered to the French in 1806, as a result of the defeats at Jena and Auerstädt. However, in 1808 the formation was restored under the name Husaren Regiment No. 3 or 1. Brandenburger Husaren Regiment. Some of the regiment's sub-units took part in the Russian campaign as a forced ally of Napoleon, and the entire regiment took part in campaigns against the French emperor in 1813-1815.
