The Yokosuka K5Y is a Japanese mixed WWII training biplane. Two-person crew - pilot and instructor. The prototype's flight took place in 1933, and a year later the machine entered service. Three versions of the plane were created. The first is the K5Y1, which acts as a traditional school plane with a wheeled undercarriage. The second version (K5Y2) had a float chassis and a more powerful 300HP Amakaze 11 engine. Finally, the last version (K5Y3) is a modernized version of the Y2 with a more powerful Amakaze 21 engine with 515HP. The plane was produced in several factories and in the years 1935-1945 as many as 5,770 machines of this type were built. It was the most popular training plane in Japan at that time, with excellent flight characteristics. Technical data (version K5Y1): length: 8.05m, wingspan: 11m, height: 3.2m, maximum speed: 212km / h, rate of climb: 3.69m / s, maximum range: 1020km, maximum ceiling 5700m, weapons : fixed - 2 machine guns cal.7.7 mm, underslung - up to 100 kg of bombs.
